Hi everyone,

I wanted to write a blog as I start my World Race journey today. My parents and I got into Atlanta yesterday in the afternoon. We spent some quality time together and simply enjoyed hanging out with each other before we say good bye. Today after lunch, I was finally able to meet the people who are going on this trip with me as I have only known them over text. It was great to be able to meet all these new people. It has given me a lot of excitement as I have been waiting and anticipating this day. As of now, I am sitting in a hotel room with two guys I just met as we wait for dinner. BTW, there are only two beds. Haha

I will be in Gainesville, Georgia for about four weeks as we train and prepare for our trip. I do not know much but I have been told that this will be a time to saturate ourselves with God, be discipled by older and wiser leaders, and to grow in community with the other racers (people going on the trip with me). I will definitely post more about what my next couple of weeks are like and to share what God has been teaching me. After that four weeks, we will be working with Samaritan’s Purse in the United States for two weeks. Then we will be off to Cambodia.

As I have prepared for this trip, 2 Thessalonians 1:10-12 has really spoken to me and it is the prayer of my heart and I hope you will pray this for me as well. “When he comes on that day to be glorified in his saints, and to be marveled at among all who have believed, because our testimony to you was believed. To this end we always pray for you, that our God may make you worthy of his calling and may fulfill every resolve for good and every work of faith by his power, so that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in you, and you in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.” Some other prayer requests are that I would be filled with grace, strive hard to avoid complaining, and to be a leader for Christ among my peers.

Please continue to pray for me that I would be a faithful servant to the King and that he would be glorified in all that I do.

My purpose statement is this, “I seek to glorify God by enjoying who He is and pointing others to Him in every aspect of my life.”

  1. There was an event in my family’s life that opened by eyes to something …. People were praying for my family member around the world -literally-every time zone that had land in it (with an exception of 2 time zones). My eyes were open to how big our heavenly family really is. You and your teammates are going to experience this first hand and I pray expand our family. Praying for my brother.

  2. Count your Coaches among those praying for your journey! We’re looking forward to meeting you next week in Gainesville.
